How to Shop Brass

Which brass is right for you?

Brass is a timeless material, sought after for how it offers warmth, depth and longevity in a way that few other metals do.

The finish you choose shapes how your brass fixture will age and interact with your space over time. Anodized, Waxed or Burnished, the different brass finishes will vary in the depth of their golden hue, in how much they catch and diffuse the light, and in how much they will patina with use and exposure.

Here are some good ways to think about, and decide between, the three brass options we offer, each with its own character and strengths.

Our Waxed Brass has a brushed grain finish that is lightly coated with a wax topcoat. Waxed brass is designed to evolve, aging gracefully to tell a story of wear and use.

Protected with a wax top coat, waxed brass will slowly develop a natural patina through touch, exposure and time. Areas that are handled may brighten while others deepen, creating subtle variation and character unique to each fixture. In outdoor environments, waxed brass will eventually take on deep brown and green-blue hues given its copper content.

Our Anodized Brass finish offers a warm lustre to our aluminum parts. This proprietary finish gives us the material properties of aluminum with the timeless look of brass.

Our anodized brass is created with an organic dye over a substrate of aluminum. This creates a durable surface that protects the metal and preserves its color. It’s the most consistent and low-maintenance option—ideal for projects where you want the warmth of brass with long-term stability. The finish resists fingerprints and oxidation, keeping its tone nearly the same for years.

Our Burnished Brass is solid brass with a hand applied patina that provides a deep lustrous appearance.

The brass is hand-burnished and patinated to bring out rich tonal depth, then ceramic-coated to resist further oxidation. Burnished brass provides an aged depth right from the start that maintains its character over time. This finish is a favorite for spaces where you want brass to feel elevated and provide a soft, refined glow.
