The go-to Allen wrenches in our shop are a relatively simple set of steel Hex-Plus keys from Wera.
We like these for a few reasons. First, the lack of a plastic sheath makes them easier to handle and much easier to store. And second, there’s evidence that the Hex-Plus shape is less likely to deform (and strip out) a bolt’s hex socket.
For the kind of work we do, these Wera wrenches are both the most effective and the most cost effective option we know of.
