We run our Studio from a building that once housed an old lumber yard in Los Angeles (before living other lives). A blank slate when we moved in, we've slowly and steadily designed the space to meet our needs. This includes building a Studio kitchen, where we gather daily to commune over lunch. When it came time to light the kitchen, we recognized an opportunity for fixtures in our Grain Family to take on new shape as a series of sconces.
We photographed the Grain Sconce in an apothecary scene with locally gathered eucalyptus and lavender. An apothecary's intuitive understanding and value for nature is echoed in the design of our Grain Family, which exposes and celebrates the natural wood grain of the maple molds we use in the metal spinning process.
